To build and strengthen youth service systems that prepare Hartford youth to be productive, self-sufficient adults.

In the summer of 2006, Hartford Mayor Eddie A. Perez established the Office for Youth Services. With a focus on coordination, capacity building, and strategic partnerships, the Office has been working within the City of Hartford with key stakeholders to address the needs of all Hartford youth.

OUR VALUES

Youth Voice – We value the voices of youth, support their development as future advocates and commit to incorporating their unique talents and experiences in the work that we do.

Bridging - We place the development of relationships at the heart of all the work that we do because both youth and adults thrive when nurturing bonds are developed.

Innovation - We are not afraid to try new ideas and concepts and know that good solutions and ideas can come from every member of our community.

Integrity - We conduct ourselves ethically and are honest in our work; we expect the same from our youth.

Respect - We treat all individuals with dignity, courtesy, respect, and celebrate the diversity of Hartford and its youth.

Excellence - We employ best practices in all the work that we do and expect excellence from Hartford’s youth.
